Oil

Roger Ebert doesn't need little ol' me to link to his blog, but just in case you don't already go there once in a while, this is a good one. It brings to the surface some of the things that have been troubling me about the Deepwater Horizon oil rig explosion and subsequent spill. Some of the things. He scratches at the political surface of the issue. I have much more thinking to do about the political turmoil of the situation, and this blog has helped me on my way.

If you go there, and read it, come back here and comment. I am interested in what critically-thinking individuals have to say. By that, I mean, not a comment argument on Facebook, which thrown ridiculous rhetoric around like confetti at a prom.

"Why doesn't every house have solar panels?" ~ r. ebert

this one has always been a no brainer but has baffled my brain since high school (though i haven't had the brain power to figer out how to implement it into my budgeted lifestyle)...

perhaps the wizard(s) should've given me a brain...but alas...i'm just a beauty school drop-out...so i'll blame someone else for the mess

we can go to the moon...and now apparently mars...

we can build huge entertainment ships to sail the seas...or huge ships that entertain those lucky enough to say "my ship is bigger than yer ship"...

build skyscrapers that can kiss the clouds...or at times be forced to kiss the dirt

but we can't (or more likely...
WON'T) produce simple standardized
and made affordable and efficient...solar panels to soak up the suns rays on a daily basis...and store in reserves somehow (fer those cloudy/winter nights)...to make energy for all to survive...whether rich or poor

(course...those in icelandic and other northern territories that are without sun fer half a year...ummm...i'll get right back to you on that one)

fer CHER's sakes!!...the sun is always gonna come out sooner or later (i read that that in a book once...true story)

and no plant...animal...or human needs to be inconvienced in any way collect'n it's rays...since every live'n thing and every breath'n human on the planet has part ownership of it!

in fact...we don't even need to contact Kathy Lee or any other 3rd world country with underpaid workers to help collect the rays...the sun will shine fer free

WAIT!!

no corporations?...no big wigs?
...no religious fundamentalist organizations?...control'n a specific energy source vital to the planets survival...

shit!!...that's sooo 1800's

i mean...how come we never see George or Judy Jetson stopp'n in at their local cum and go station...or Han Solo fill'n up on premium fuel fer the millenium falcon so he can get his hyper drive on?

answer?...cuz they never needed it people!!

George and Judy just hopped in and flew to where ever they needed...and Han...well...i haven't quite put my finger on it...but i'm almost positive...his hotness factor fueled the falcon (i dare you to disprove me)

so until that glorious day comes (and really i hope it does)...i will enjoy wash'n my dirty dishes by hand...(which i sooo do)...

read'n my sleazy magazines or watch'n the latest episode of GLEE...without a symphony of lights...

find'n alternatives to gett'n places within walk'n/bike'n distances...by either walk'n...or bike'n i suppose...without the use of my actual green car (not "green" car...i can't afford those yet)

lett'n my clothes get kissed by the wind whenever possible...(i do soo love that smell)

and not point my finger at the BIG O...cuz there's always 3 more point'n back at me

to be continued...maybe...

Mattress~
